This course offers an engaging mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application, exploring the wider opportunities within the motorsport industry, helping you identify potential career pathways. With hands-on learning and industry-relevant content, this qualification provides a solid platform for those looking to advance in automotive engineering or motorsport-related roles.
What will I do?
During the course, you will cover topics including:
- Engineering Workshop Techniques
- Motorsport Vehicle Preparation
- Motorsport Vehicle Electronic Ancillary and Information Systems
- Motorsport Vehicle Tyres, Suspension, Steering and Braking Systems
- Motorsport Vehicle System Fault
- Diagnosis and Rectification
- Function, Operation and Inspection of Motorsport Transmission Systems
- Motorsport Vehicle Bodywork
You will also experience guest speakers working in the industry, educational visits, and gain real-life experience working in a professional race team with BCR. During the course, you will also have the opportunity to complete the below qualifications:
- Earth Week – Tackling the Climate Emergency Level 3
- Introduction to Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Technology
- Industry Skills in Motorsport Level 3
- Welding Techniques and Skills Award Level 2
Entry Qualifications
To study the Motorsport Diploma Level 3 you will need to have 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, including English or Maths.
Attendance
The Motorsport Diploma Level 3 will take you 1 year to complete. You will attend college from 9:00am-4:30pm for at least 3 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus independent study.
Fees
The Motorsport Diploma Level 3 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £3345.

How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed via practical assessments, presentations, coursework and exams.

Additional costs
