The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Knowledge) – Motorsport is the ideal progression route from the Motorsport Certificate Level 1, building on foundational skills with a deeper focus on motorsport and engineering principles.
This course offers an engaging mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application, covering areas such as light vehicle technology, motorsport systems, and workshop safety. You will also explore the wider opportunities within the motorsport industry, helping you identify potential career pathways. With hands-on learning and industry-relevant content, this qualification provides a solid platform for those looking to advance in automotive engineering or motorsport-related roles.

In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
To study the Motorsport Diploma Level 2 you will need to have 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, including English or Maths.
The Motorsport Diploma Level 2 will take you 1 year to complete. You will attend college from 9:00am-4:30pm for at least 3 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus independent study.
The Motorsport Diploma Level 2 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £1500.

You will be assessed via practical assessments, presentations, coursework and exams.
Successful completion of the Motorsport Diploma Level 2 opens doors to exciting opportunities in both further education and career opportunities in the motorsport sector. Students who achieve this qualification can progress onto Level 3 Motorsport courses, where they will expand their knowledge and practical skills.
