The Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in project management and ensure the success of your projects. Effective project management involves overseeing resources, managing teams, planning and reporting, solving problems, and building relationships. In this comprehensive course, you will cover key responsibilities such as change management, stakeholder management, scoping, issues and risk management, contract procurement and management, and continuous improvement. You will learn to handle the complexities of project management while ensuring that project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Throughout the program, you will engage in real-world projects and case studies, providing hands-on experience and reinforcing your learning. Emphasis is placed on developing your leadership and communication skills, which are critical for managing teams and stakeholders across various sectors. The course also prepares you for professional certification, enhancing your career prospects in the project management field. With mentorship from experienced professionals and access to a network of industry peers, you will have the support and resources needed to succeed. By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be well-prepared to take on the responsibilities of an Associate Project Manager, capable of delivering projects that drive business success and innovation.

What will I do?

In the Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship, you will engage in a series of modules designed to build your expertise and confidence in project management.

You will start with Project Management Fundamentals, gaining a solid understanding of the core principles and practices. Moving on to Business Case and Benefits, you will learn how to justify projects and measure their success. The Planning and Scope module will teach you how to define project parameters and ensure alignment with objectives.

In Quality, you will explore techniques to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle. Scheduling, Budgeting, and Cost Control will equip you with the skills to create realistic timelines and manage project finances effectively. The Resources and Procurement module will cover how to acquire and manage the necessary resources and services.

Risks and Issues will focus on identifying potential challenges and developing strategies to mitigate them. The Stakeholders module will help you understand and manage relationships with all parties involved in the project. Effective Communication techniques will be essential in ensuring clarity and alignment within your team and with stakeholders.

You will develop Leadership and Teamwork skills, crucial for motivating and guiding your team. The Governance and Methodologies module will introduce you to various frameworks and standards that ensure project compliance and efficiency. Finally, Professional Development will prepare you for continuous growth and career advancement in the project management field.

To ensure completion of this qualification, you will need to be working in a relevant role with access to project work.

Level 2 English and Maths are required for this apprenticeship. Apprentices without English and mathematics at level 2, must achieve level 2 prior to taking their EPA.

We will assess your level of English and mathematics before you start the qualification, and you will need to be working at a level 1 standard to be accepted onto the apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship can be started at any time, and you will meet with your assessor at least once a month either at your workplace or remotely on Teams.

As an Apprentice, you will pay no course fees. However, your employer may have to pay towards your training as well as providing you with a wage (please see below).

There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending on your age and what year of your apprenticeship youโ€™re in.

Aged 16 to 18.

The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is ยฃ6.40 per hour.

Aged 19 or over and in your first year.

The current National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice is ยฃ6.40 per hour.

Aged 19 or over and have completed your first year.

Youโ€™re entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age.

You will be assigned an assessor who will observe your practice in your setting throughout the duration of your course, your assessor will offer support and guidance and will use a variety of assessment methods to help you achieve the requirements of the qualification and standard.

When yourself, employer and your assessor feel you are ready you will be put forward for the End Point Assessment which will be carried out independently.

Successful completion of the course will lead to a better understanding of the subject, possible career progression and you could also progress onto other qualifications in this field.
