The YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Performance Massage is a highly respected, industry-standard qualification designed for those looking to enter the field of sports massage therapy. This course provides the essential skills and knowledge required to assess and treat individuals with dysfunctional tissue, helping to improve mobility and recovery.
Upon successful completion, you will be fully accredited to deliver sports massage therapy sessions, working with clients who do not have acute or post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. This qualification opens the door to opportunities including working as an independent practitioner or as part of a multi-disciplinary team in sports therapy clinics, gyms, or rehabilitation centres.

There are no formal entry qualifications for this course. However, please note that you must be aged 19+.
Prior knowledge of sport and exercise will be beneficial due to the level of understanding of Anatomy and Physiology required for the qualification.
The Performance Massage Diploma Level 3 will take you 8 weeks to complete. You will attend college from 5:00pm-8:00pm for 1 evening per week at our Peter Paine Performance Centre in Boston.
The Performance Massage Diploma Level 3 may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:

You will be assessed via practical assessments and theory assessments, including workbooks, a theory examination, worksheets, and 2 observed treatment sessions.
Upon successful completion of the qualification, you will be fully accredited to perform sports massage therapy sessions, helping individuals with dysfunctional soft tissue. This includes assessing and treating muscular tension, improving flexibility, and aiding recovery, provided clients do not have acute or post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. You may work independently as a practitioner or as part of a multi-disciplinary team in sports therapy clinics, gyms, or rehabilitation centres, supporting clients in enhancing performance and overall wellbeing.
