Leadership and Management HND Level 5
The Pearson BTEC Leadership and Management for England HND Level 5 is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) that has been approved against employer developed standards, also known as occupational standards.

Gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in business communications, operational planning and management, accounting principles, marketing and more. You will develop a wide range of business knowledge, transferable skills and practical skills through research, independent study and workplace scenarios, to prepare you for future management roles that require personal responsibility and decision-making, including operations manager, regional manager, divisional manager, department manager, and specialist managers.
What will I do?
During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND.

Throughout this course, you will develop confidence in areas such as:
- Gaining business knowledge and practical skills through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios
- Learning transferable skills, such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis
- Learning the concepts of leadership and management
- Preparing to enter employment into roles that require personal responsibility and decision-making
Entry Qualifications
In order to study the Leadership and Management HND Level 5, you will need to have successfully completed:
- A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Business, an A Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject, or an Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved further education institution
- GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6
Attendance
The Leadership and Management HND Level 5 will take you 2 years to complete. You will attend college for 2 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus independent study.
Fees
The Leadership and Management HND Level 5 will cost ยฃ7100 per year.

How Will I Be Assessed
Assessment is via course work which includes essays, reports, practical observations and presentations.
The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
Where Could It Lead?
The Pearson HND courses are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers specialisms. Progression onto an undergraduate degree or further professional qualifications in a related area are possible, including the Business Management BA (Hons) Top-Up Level 6 qualification at Boston College.
