What will I do?

During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND.

Modules Include:

  • Concept and Development: Develop your creative concepts and skills through various projects and assignments
  • Creative Project: Apply your learning in a significant creative project that showcases your skills and understanding
  • Personal Professional Development: Focus on your personal and professional growth, setting goals and strategies for your career
  • Professional Project: Lead a major project that demonstrates your professional skills and knowledge

Throughout this course, you will develop confidence in areas such as:

  • Idea and Concept Development

  • Generative AI for Professional Applications

In order to study the Graphic and Digital Design HND Level 5, you will need to have successfully completed:

  • An MMP at Level 3 in a related subject, or Access to Higher Education qualification, or an A Level equivalent (minimum 80 new UCAS points) in related subjects
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6

Relevant work experience may be considered if you do not meet the above criteria.

The Graphic and Digital Design HND Level 5 will take you 2 years to complete. You will attend college for 2-3 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus approximately 24 hours of independent study per week.

The Graphic and Digital Design HND Level 5 will cost £7100 per year.

Assessment is via a mix of practical, real-world projects and portfolios that embed relevant theory into practice and mirror industry challenges.

The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

The Pearson HND courses are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers specialisms. Progression onto an undergraduate degree or further professional qualifications in a related area are possible.

All students receive a subscription to Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. While our facilities include multiple studio spaces and computer suites with industry-standard Apple hardware and accessories, having a personal laptop capable of running these applications would be advantageous. Additional costs may include:

  • Approximately £100 for books and study materials
  • Approximately £400 for trips
  • Approximately £200 for presentation and printing of work
