The Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2 is designed to equip you with essential knowledge and understanding of the care, development, and education of babies and young children from birth to five years old. This qualification provides a strong foundation for those looking to work in early years settings, ensuring you gain the skills required to support children's learning, wellbeing, and development.
Recognised by the Department for Education (DfE), this diploma meets the Level 2 full and relevant criteria for an Early Years Practitioner, making it a valuable credential for those wishing to enter the workforce in a childcare setting.
In addition to practical childcare knowledge, the course focuses on enhancing your academic writing skills, preparing you for further studies and higher level qualifications. Whether you plan to progress onto a Level 3 Early Years course or other advanced studies, this diploma serves as an excellent stepping stone for your career.

You will also undertake volunteering in an Early Years setting (working with children aged 0-8 years) alongside your studies at the College.
In addition to your course, you may also study either GCSE or Functional Skills English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
The Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2 will take you 11 months to complete. You will attend college for a course induction with your tutor at our Rochford Campus in Boston. Following this, you will attend online workshops once per month.
The Early Years Practitioner Diploma Level 2 may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:

You will be assessed via practical assessments and course work, including placement observations and written assessments.
