Beauty Therapy Certificate Level 1
Add to ShortlistThe VTCT Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Beauty Therapy is designed to develop your competence as an Assistant Junior Beauty Therapist.
Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification for advanced skills development or enter the industry as an Assistant Junior Beauty Therapist in a salon, spa, or as a self-employed beauty professional.
What will I do?
During the course, you will cover topics including:
- Ensuring Responsibility for Actions to Reduce Risks to Health and Safety
- Contributing to the Development of Effective Working
- Preparing and Maintaining the Salon Treatment Work Areas
- Assisting with Facial Skincare Services
- Assisting with Day Makeup Services
- Assisting with Nail Services
You will also have the opportunity to complete the below qualifications:
- Earth Week โ Tackling the Climate Emergency Level 1
- Head Massage Award Level 2
- Nail Art Application Award Level 2
- Preventing Contact Dermatitis Award Level 2
- Skin Cancer Awareness for Non-Healthcare Professionals Award Level 2
In addition to your course, you may also study either GCSE or Functional Skills English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
Entry Qualifications
To study the Beauty Therapy Certificate Level 1 you will need to have an Entry Level qualification in Beauty Therapy and and/or a successful skills test and interview.
Attendance
The Beauty Therapy Certificate Level 1 will take you 1 year to complete. You will attend college from 9:00am-4:30pm for 3-4 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus independent study.
Fees
The Beauty Therapy Certificate Level 1 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost ยฃ1500.

How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed via practical observations on clients and workbooks.
Where Could It Lead?
Successful completion of the Beauty Therapy Certificate Level 1 will equip you with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to pursue a career in the beauty therapy industry. You can progress onto a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy.
