The Animal Management Diploma Level 3 is perfect for anyone passionate about animal care and looking to advance their knowledge and career prospects. Additionally, this diploma serves as an excellent stepping stone for those interested in Higher Education, such as animal science, zoology, or veterinary nursing.

As a Boston College student, you will benefit from hands-on experience at our specialist Animal Care Unit, where you can apply your learning in a real-world setting. This practical experience ensures you develop the confidence and expertise needed for a fulfilling career in animal management.

What will I do?

During the course, you will cover topics including:

  • Animal Welfare and Ethics
  • Practical Animal Husbandry
  • Animal Behaviour
  • Animal Health and Diseases
  • Work Experience in the Animal sector

You will also undertake a work placement alongside your studies at the College. During the course, you will also have the opportunity to complete the below qualifications:

  • Earth Week โ€“ Tackling the Climate Emergency Level 3
  • Digital Skills Level 3

In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.

To study the Animal Management Diploma Level 3, you will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, including English or Maths.

The Animal Management Diploma Level 3 will take you 2 years to complete. You will attend college from 9:00am-4:30pm for 3-4 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston. You will also be expected to complete a work placement, plus independent study.

The Animal Management Diploma Level 3 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

If you are aged 19+, this course will cost ยฃ7172.

You will be assessed via practical assessments, presentations, coursework and exams.
