The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Marketing blends creative thinking with strategic insight, equipping learners for the fast-paced marketing industry. This course combines practical skills with real world applications, preparing students for careers in marketing or further study.

Developed in collaboration with employers, industry professionals, and education experts, this qualification covers key areas such as Digital Marketing, Branding, Customer Experience, Influencer Marketing, Campaign Development, and Corporate Social Responsibility. You will gain hands-on experience through strategic planning, data analysis, content creation, and market research, working on projects that reflect industry demands.

From digital campaigns to customer communications, this programme provides real world assignments, collaborative projects, and simulated client briefs, ensuring you develop the expertise employers seek. Whether pursuing employment, freelancing, an Apprenticeship, or Higher Education, this course offers a strong foundation for a successful marketing career.

As a Creative, Cultural and Business student, you will have access to all our Art, Design and Media facilities, which include two art studios, a photography studio, a darkroom, and a television studio. You will also be using industry standard software.

What will I do?

During the course, you will cover topics including:

Year 1:

  • Careers in Marketing
  • Marketing Principles (Externally Assessed)
  • Customer Communications
  • Branding Products and Services
  • Generating Customer Loyalty

Year 2:

  • Applying Digital Marketing (Synoptic Unit)
  • Marketing an Event (Synoptic Unit)

Optional Topics:

  • Influencer Marketing
  • Activating a Brand
  • Customer Immersion Experiences
  • Market Research for a Start-up
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • You will also have the opportunity to complete the qualification in Earth Week – Tackling the Climate Emergency Level 3.

    To study Marketing Extended Diploma Level 3, you will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Maths.

    Please note that relevant work experience may also be considered.

    The Marketing Extended Diploma Level 3 will take you 2 years to complete. You will attend college from 9:00am-4:30pm for 3-4 days per week at our Rochford Campus in Boston, plus independent study.

    The Marketing Extended Diploma Level 3 is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

    If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £6602.

    You will be assessed via presentations, written reports, project work, practical assessments, and an exam.

    Upon successful completion of the Marketing Extended Diploma Level 3, you will have several exciting opportunities to advance your career. You can progress to university to study Marketing, Business, Digital Media, or related subjects, gaining deeper industry insights and expertise.

    Alternatively, you may enter the workforce in roles such as Marketing Assistant, Digital Marketer, Events Executive, or Branding Coordinator, where you can apply your skills in real world settings. Another option is to pursue a Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeship in Marketing and Communications, allowing you to earn while you learn and gain valuable industry experience.

    Additional costs may include study materials (approximately £100) and educational visits (approximately £300). A personal laptop that is suitable for marketing, design, Adobe, and Microsoft Office software is recommended.
