When I was 16/17 I decided I wanted to be a filmmaker, my reason was that there's so many dreadful films being made, if I made my own there would at least be something I would enjoy. So I signed up to the Media Production course at Boston College.
I then went to Staffordshire University to study film production, and got a 2:1, which suits me fine. As well as the qualification, one or two films I made won a couple of minor awards, the best one was a TV show we made that won the regional RTS Award for a Student Entertainment Production. It was a proud evening spent with a load of D-list celebrities; our award was presented by David Harewood from Homeland.
I obviously spent my two years at Boston College being memorable because I got a phone call one day from Tim White, saying a Media Technician job had become available, I applied and the rest is history.
