This Access to Science programme is designed for adults interested in undertaking a career in the Science or Engineering fields.
This course is available in Boston.
Successful completion of the course could also lead to progression onto the College's University Level courses. You could study the HNC/HND in Applied Science or Computing Systems and Development on your doorstep and at up to half the cost of university fees.
What will I do?
The Diploma is gained by achieving 18 Level 3 credits in 3 main subjects. You can choose these from the following subjects, Biology, Physics*, Maths, Chemistry* or Computing.

You will also complete 3 Level 3 credits in Study Skills: Research and Referencing and 3 Level 3 credits in IT for Academic Purposes.
Whilst it is an advantage that you have a full Level 2 qualification prior to entry on the course, the only requirement is that you hold at least a GCSE grade C (New GCSE grade - 4) in maths, and at least a GCSE grade D (New GCSE grade - 3) in English (equivalent qualifications considered).

If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £21,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. You will attend College 4 days a week and hours are designed to fit around childcare/school hours, with your day starting at 9.15am-9.30am and finishing 2.30pm–2.45pm.
