Art & Design at Boston College is a practical, hands-on subject that utilises our fully equipped Art workshops, including Art Studios, Print Room, Apple Mac suites, and Photography Studio/Darkroom.
You will be taught by industry expert lecturers that have worked in creative roles in the Art & Design industry, enabling them to share their own experiences and knowledge with you. You will take part in a professional exhibition, external ‘Live Briefs’ linked to local industry, and go on inspirational trips to locations related to the course, including an overnight stay in Liverpool.
You will study various areas of Art & Design practice, including Painting, Sculpture and 3D Design, Life Drawing, Printmaking, Computer Manipulation, Design and Textiles, and Illustration.
You will also have the opportunity to specialise is a distinct pathway, linked to your own career aspirations. You have the choice to explore many formats, materials and resources, and will take part in practical workshops linked to these. In learning new processes and acquiring new skills, you are allowed the freedom to decide how you, as an individual, interpret the topics and the projects you work on.
